This year's festival will be the creation of three communities—Round Hill, Hillsboro and Bluemont—working together to put on our celebration of the Appalachian Trail and all the Great Outdoors. If you've been to our past A.T. festivals, you can expect your faves: great tunes, talks, tastes and all the rest. If you're new to the festival, we guarantee a good time. Back by popular demand, we welcome three returning bands to The Gap Stage during festival hours: The Short Hill Mountain Boys, Justin Trawick & The Common Good and Frank Solivan & Jillian Lea. (Check back to see who will take the stage in the post-fest evening hours!) Once again, we'll have something for everyone. Kids (of all ages) can enjoy complimentary nature crafts, climb a rock wall, ride a pony and have fun on our mega-slide. Hikers can hear tales from the Trail. Gardeners can consult with Master Naturalist and Gardeners, then pick out native plants to bring home from Yellow House Natives. Also in store, just about everything from A to Z (or close): art, beeswax wraps, ceramics, drinks, earrings, festival T-shirts, gear, hickory syrup, ice cream, jewelry... Please save the date: June 8, 2024.

Our 2023 "Wild Beauty" art show was such a success that we're planning another show for this year's festival. We hope to feature hiker/artists who have been inspired first-hand by the beauty of the Appalachian Trail. Invitations are going out now. If you have an artist to suggest, please contact us. Art of the Trail: An A.T.-Inspired Invitational Show Old Stone School 37098 Charles Town Pike, Hillsboro, VA June 7-8, 2024 Our local A.T. fest continues to evolve and grow. Now the project of three Loudoun County, VA, A.T. Communities (Round Hill, Hillsboro and Bluemont), we aim to engage yet more people with the enjoyment and protection of the Trail and all our local green spaces. We hope to see you June 8, 2024 in Hillsboro. Want to join our venture? We're looking for sponsors, donations, eco vendors and like-minded nonprofits. Plus, A.T. hiker/artists, 2024 thru-hikers...and more. Please reach out to us. Photo by Dan Innamorato What a wonderful fest we enjoyed in 2021. Thanks to everyone—from sponsors and vendors, to non-profit partners, to bands and speakers and, of course, many thanks to all our volunteers and visitors. We've taken a breather from all-things festival for a couple months...and, now...it's time to look ahead to 2022. First off, we're moving the festival back to June—because that's when the most thru-hikers pass through our section of the A.T., and we want to invite them to take a day off the trail with us. We'll offer shuttle service from Bear's Den, plus food vouchers, camping and loads of Trail Magic. If you know someone thru-hiking the A.T. in 2022, please pass along the word. Over the next few months, we'll be lining up speakers, sponsors, bands, vendors, food trucks, kids' activities...and more. If you have suggestions, please let us know. Hope you'll join us in June 2022 to celebrate the A.T. and all the Great Outdoors. The second Round Hill A.T. Festival is in the books. What a weekend we had between the beautiful weather, the great bands, the wonderful speakers, vendors and partner organizations—and all the happy "campers" who joined us. We celebrated the Trail and all the Great Outdoors with displays and talks about native plants, safe hiking, planting trees, camping light, thru-hiking and day hiking, nature printing, trail cooking and so much more. We're a small group of volunteers who put on the festival, and we thank everyone who made it possible. Thanks to all who sponsored us, joined us at the festival and supported us along the way. Let's do it again! (Photos by @craigolsen) This time we mean it! Though we had to cancel dates in June and September of 2020, we are hopeful that we'll all get vaccinated by sometime this summer. So...we have set new dates for the 2021 Round Hill Appalachian Trail Festival, and we hope you can join us on September 11 and 12. Once again, B Chord Brewing has generously offered to host the festival. And, once again, we're planning for trail talks, live music, kids' activities, a scavenger hunt, hikes, food trucks—and so much more. Please put us on your calendar (9/11-12), and watch this space for more details as we get things in place for a wonderful weekend celebrating the A.T. and all things nature! |
