Toasting the Trail
Why celebrate the Appalachian Trail?
Following 2,190 miles of mountain ridge lines, the Appalachian National Scenic Trail (A.T.) crosses 14 states, from Maine to Georgia. It's the longest and oldest marked footpath in the country—and here in Western Loudoun, VA, we're lucky enough to have the A.T. right in our backyard.
June 2024, we'll hold our fifth celebration of the A.T. (and all the Great Outdoors) in Hillsboro, VA, with three A.T. Communities teaming up to host: Bluemont, Hillsboro and Round Hill, VA. Please join us at the Old Stone School grounds in Hillsboro: 37098 Charles Town Pike, 11am-5pm.
Some 2,000 of you joined us in June 2023 to listen to hiking experts and enjoy live music—plus kids' activities, an A.T.-inspired art show and more. We went "hands on" again, with activities and demos like trail cooking, yoga for hikers, hammock camping...and more. Twenty-eight A.T. thru hikers joined us for lunch, with some sticking around to camp out before heading back to the Trail.
We'll do all this—and more—June 8th, 2024. Please get in touch if you want to get involved.
